Kipchoge Keino stadium nears completion

The construction of Kipchoge Keino stadium in Kapsabet is in its final stages and is expected to commissioned in June this year. The county executive committee member in charge of sports, Patrick Sang announced that the laying of the tartan track will start in early February. Last week, governor Cleophas Lagat announced that his dream was to see Kipchoge Keino Stadium used for trials in the next World Championship and in the next summer Olympics. “A half of the Kenyan athletes hail from my county and I want to see them shattering world records at home and not abroad only,” Lagat said last week. So far the construction of the 3,000 seater VIP pavilion is in its finality.
