Smooth operator
The world-class F2500W and F2500WS wheeled pavers from industry-leading manufacturer and supplier of roadbuilding and construction equipment, Dynapac, is defined by quality, reliability and simplicity, ingredients that are required for a success recipe that delivers paving results par excellence’.
“This F2500 wheeled range is coupled with precise power and smart design to provide an optimum paving solution and years of excellent service even when operating in some of Africa’s harshest and most demanding conditions,” states Neville Marthinussen, Business Line Manager for Dynapac South Africa. “Combine this with conventional electric control, a high torque auger, high paving capacity, Dynapac vario screed, an efficient drive concept, best-in-class operator comfort and hassle-free service, and you have the perfect paving partner!”
The F2500W/WS range is powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 water-cooled diesel engine that drives an efficient hydraulic system. This power pack offers high torque and excellent fuel efficiency which, alongside an increased fuel tank capacity, ensures long intervals before refueling is required, leading to increased uptime and productivity.
The Dynapac pavers’ powerful and smart rear wheel drive delivers increased power. With its additional two front wheel drives, the F2500WS can pave up to an industry-leading 6.6 m! The wide, low profile tyres ensure outstanding traction and provide superior ground contact in both work and drive modes. Furthermore, the asymmetric suspended axle permits ground contact for the front tyres on rugged terrain and also assists with improving the machine’s overall driving capability. A low centre of gravity ensures good balance and optimum stability. Marthinussen adds that the hydrostatic drive system offers a smooth driving experience with good speed ramp up.
“Everything about these pavers is straightforward – from easy transportation and safe operation to hassle-free service and maintenance,” notes Marthinussen. These compact machines boast an industry-leading inner turning radius of 2.4m which facilitates operation and manoeuvrability on city roads and in confined areas. Loading, unloading and transporting the F2500W and F2500WS cannot be simpler thanks to their 17 degree ramp angle combined with manually operated locking cylinders for the levelling arms and large easily accessible transport lugs. In addition, the mechanical screed arm lock and mechanical lock for the hopper cylinder also make it easy to transport the paver quickly. 2/…

The strong and durable auger system’s high torque suits all paving widths and thicknesses and provides perfect paving results. The system features left and right reversible augers and independent drives and auger speed is steplessly adjusted by sonic sensors to ensure smooth material flow. Marthinussen adds that the auger height can be adjusted by a remarkable 250mm.
According to Marthinussen, Dynapac screeds are the most appreciated screed in the market when it comes to quality which he describes as “nothing short of excellent.” Screed stability is unmatched due to the well-proven four-guiding tube principle. Dynapac screeds are easy to assemble and do not need any supporting rods even at large working widths, enabling the operator to focus on the paving process at hand. The industry-renowned Flexi lever offers fast and convenient screed angle change for different layers and thicknesses.
Material transfer from trucks is a breeze thanks to the pavers’ larger hopper (1953mm) which has an extremely low dumping height and separately controlled hopper wings with generous solid rubber flaps. Chamfered hopper corners prevent cold material from being left in the hopper. A robust paddle sensor system enables proportional control for seamless material flow. The perfectly balanced, fully automated twin conveying system ensures unmatched capacity, smooth transfer and minimised segregation.
These pavers are manufactured with operator safety and comfort top of mind to provide a high-end work space. The higher platform improves operator visibility of the hopper and all working areas for improved safety. The conventional electrics with toggle switches are self-explanatory and easy to learn and maintain. Four integrated front and rear LED lights as well as lights for the auger compartment ensure that areas are well lit for safe work after dark.
As an environmentally conscious company, Dynapac has designed its sustainable gas heating systems to reduce energy consumption as well as CO2 emissions. The optimised electrical heating system features high quality insulation and a stronger generator that significantly reduces heat-up times. Well-designed bottom plate and tamper heating coils deliver even heat distribution.
“When it comes to the servicing and maintenance of our machines, the goal is to save both time and money for customers and end-users,” notes Marthinussen. “So we have made sure that access to our pavers is easy; service points are centrally located and all components are easy to find and directly accessible.” Marthinussen highlights the important role of regular and preventative maintenance in ensuring that the machines perform efficiently, optimally and reliably. “This will ensure high quality paving results, low operational costs, extended life cycles and minimum maintenance, enabling customers and end-users to reap the benefits of the lowest overall cost of ownership, sustainable productivity and ultimately profitability,” concludes Marthinussen.
